Andrew Wicks is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a degree in Environmental Studies and minors in Biology and Geography. He started with Natural Biodiversity in January 2009 as the Habitat Projects Assistant and is now serving a full-time AmeriCorps term as the Environmental Outreach Coordinator. In 2008, he traveled to the North Cascades National Park to conduct bird population surveys as part of an internship with the Institute for Bird Populations. The following summer he utilized those skills to inventory the Nature Preserve at Pitt-Johnstown for avian diversity. As Outreach Coordinator, he recruited volunteers, developed media relations, and planned events throughout the year. In his free time, he enjoys bird watching, hiking, kayaking, and reading.
