Natural Biodiversity’s primary goals within south-central and southwestern Pennsylvania are to:
  • Reduce the presence of invasive, non-native plants.
  • Enhance the natural diversity of plants and animals.

Much as we hate to admit it, we probably won’t be able to eliminate all of the Japanese knotweed, crown vetch, and multiflora rose. But with your help we can make a significant impact! So other important goals include:
  • Educating people about the damage caused by these plant pests and the importance of restoring biological diversity to our landscape.
  • Enlisting volunteers willing to tackle these challenges.

Our most-important goal, though, is to do no harm! Because we don’t want to create bigger problems by introducing inappropriate biological or chemical controls, our approach is scientific and cautious.
