Penn Biodiversity Website Launched!

Natural Biodiversity has launched www.PennBiodiversity.org, a biodiversity education website for kids and educators. Through fun, colorful native and invasive comic book-style characters, the website features:
- Indoor and outdoor lesson plans
- Comic book-style stories
- Info about biodiversity and 5 key threats
- Resources for inside and outside the classroom

NB Awarded 2-year Schoolyard Garden Grant
|

|
NB will design and implement once schoolyard vegetable garden at each of the four schools in Garter Johnstown School District. Produce will go to the Greater Prospect Store (GPS) Co-op and gardens will be used to enhance science education and life skills programs. NB is thrilled to work with Grater Johnstown School District, GPS Co-op and Sandyvale Memorial Gardens and Conservancy to improve health, wellness and access to affordable fresh food in our Johnstown community. This project is funded by the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies' Community Initiatives Fund. |

Landscape Design at Raystown Lake Visitor's Center

In spring 2013, Natural Biodiversity will be working with Raystown Lake Park Rangers to design a rain garden that will recharge a pond adjacent to the visitor's center. NB will also provide native planting bed designs and offer recommendations for improving bird watching habitat. |
