- Allegheny Plateau Audubon Society
This exhibit will include examples of various bird nests found in Pennsylvania, detailing the differences in nests among different bird species. Displays of restored wetlands will also be present.

This exhibit will allow children to discover some of the smaller forms of aquatic life in PA streams by showing macroinvertebrates, or stream bugs.

Students will make beads for bracelets and necklaces by reusing old magazines.

Hourly nature walks will interest students in forest ecology and introduce them to tree and plant identification.

This exhibit will focus on paper recycling and the various forms these recycled materials play in everyday life.

Students will learn about energy conservation and making wise consumer choices as they encounter a light board that compares the energy used by a compact fluorescent light bulb versus an incandescent light bulb.

Students will learn the effects of runoff water pollution through this interactive Enviroscape® water pollution simulation.

This exhibit includes a giant 14’x11’ puzzle map of the United States that details regional climate and topography, offering insight into the physical and human geography of the country and its states.

Students will learn about a major source of water pollution Abandoned Mine Drainage.

Students will learn how to reduce their carbon footprint through discussion.
- Natural Biodiversity / National Wildlife Federation
Students will play a game called Habitat Shrink, which demonstrates the effects of habitat loss on animal populations, due to causes occurring in our region. Optional: Students will create a Pledge of Action to carry out a wildlife- or environmentally-friendly action, following a discussion on how each one of us can make a difference.
- Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation
Students will discovery this history of the American Chestnut tree and discover the restoration efforts underway. Leaf and wood samples will be presented.

Forty-five minute fishing sessions will be provided to teach students how to cast. Hundreds of fish will be stocked in the fishing pond prior to the event.

Members of the Game Commission will be setting bear traps throughout the region to gain insight into the bear populations. If a bear is captured, students will get the opportunity to learn how these great animals are studied.

Students will learn about native versus invasive species in the environment. To demonstrate this, students will play a game where the non-native cowbirds outcompete other species of birds.
- Pennsylvania Highlands Community College “Yes You Can!” Club
Hourly reading of “The Lorax” by Dr. Seuss will be followed by a crafting sessions where students can make their own tree from “The Lorax”.

This recreation outfitter will have tents and camping equipment set up for students to explore and will give tips on how to leave no trace while recreating in nature as they present their Promoting Environmental Awareness in Kids program.

Students will learn about the energy efficient transport of goods through the barge system. Activities include small scale models.

Students will learn how many items can be re-used to make fun instruments. After creating their own instrument, students will participate in a drum circle.

Students will learn how hybrid poplars trees are a great renewable resource through a fun sing-a-long.

This exhibit will show a video.
- Southcentral Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center
Students will learn about the “going green” movement in the health care industry. This exhibit will detail how certain methods of industrial production degraded the environment and impacted people’s health.

Two presentations about owls of Pennsylvania will be given each day. These presentations include live animals.
- Stonycreek-Conemaugh River Improvement Project (SCRIP)
Students will learn the value of clean streams by a “Sweetish Fishing” exercise.
- NEW!!! University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown-Engineering Technology
A solar cooker demonstration will show students how the energy of the sun can be harnessed and used as energy.
- Western Pennsylvania Conservancy
This exhibit will detail water conservation tips, especially focusing on rain barrels and their uses. Students will retain information by playing a jeopardy game about water conservation.
