Stephanie Collis, a native of Tipton, Pennsylvania, is the Environmental Education Coordinator at Natural Biodiversity for the 2011-2012 AmeriCorps year. She graduated Summa cum Laude from of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a degree in Environmental Studies and Geography. She completed two internships while attending UPJ. The first was in the Storm Water Management Department in Hampton Twp, near Pittsburgh. The second was in Cambria County’s Geographic Information Systems Department. After graduation, Stephanie served as the Native Plant Exhibit & Programming Facilitator at the Johnstown Area Heritage Association. During this time, Stephanie developed educational activities and workshops for school groups and visitors to the Johnstown Children’s Museum’s rooftop garden. Stephanie’s passion for the outdoors began as a young child learning to identify plants with her father. In her free time, Stephanie enjoys traveling, geocaching, and spending time with her supportive husband, family, and friends.
